College Students Guide to the Law
Taylor Trade Publishing
This legal handbook for students was written in a casual, often humorous manner. The challenge was to create a hip cover appealing to college-aged readers, while at the same time projecting the seriousness of the subject. The retro look is fun, and the simple color scheme keeps the design from being too over-the-top. On the printed cover a metallic foil stamp was used for all the red text.

Hey Ranger!
Taylor Trade Publishing
When I saw the amusing scene of this bear on his hind legs I immediately thought of Yogi Bear at Jellystone Park. This book is a collection of humorous and wacky park stories, so I thought the comparison to the old TV show was a good one. I created the cartoon landscape and picked retro fonts to refelct that idea.
